Stiamo Per l'Italia | We Are Going To Italy!

Ciao!
Trevifountain
We are going to Italy! I can hardly believe it.  The world is a beautiful place and it’s such a privilege to be able to explore it. After our week in Paris, I realized we could spend an entire lifetime wanting to travel, but never actually doing it because we think we need "XY&Z" to be perfect. We’ll probably never have enough time in a location, or enough money to do everything we want, but those things shouldn’t hold us back.  I’d jump on a plane tomorrow if it meant I could go back to Paris, even a couple days.   It was actually on the drive to Wallowa Lake at Christmas when we decided we are just gonna do it- we are going to Italy and we are taking my parents with us! They’ve talked about traveling to Italy for YEARS and it came down to just deciding this was the year to go for it.
So, this Spring we are headed to Rome, Cinque Terre, and Florence!  It’s gonna be a whirlwind of history, pasta, plazas, and fountains. And, it barely scratches the surface of places we wanted to go.  The wish list of destinations was much longer, but in reality it’s just not possible to see it all on our first trip. Maybe, trip number two will include the Amalfi Coast, small Tuscan towns, Sardinia, and Spain!

As we did in Paris, we  are renting an apartment(s), this time through Airbnb.  It is actually shocking how cheaply you can travel abroad when booking your accommodations through Airbnb or VRBO, compared to hotels and B&B’s.   It is quite possible to stay in an awesome place for around $100 a night or less.  It’s even easier when you are splitting it with another couple. I’m sure you could stay even cheaper at hostels or by renting a single room, but we are a little old for the back packing crowd. After going through hundreds of options, and losing out on a couple, we landed on these three places:
Rome| "The New San Pietro House"
Eurail global off peak 1
Rome Apartment View
Rome Room
Rome Outside of House
Cinque Terre| "Appartamento Al Primo Piano"
Vernazza full 11
Vernazza Liguria Italy
Vernazza Outside House
Vernazza Kitchen
Vernazza Outside
Florence| “Casa Genovesi"
Florence
Florence Balcony
Florence Bedroom

If you don’t have an Airbnb profile you can sign up under my name and we both get a credit!
